An email has been sent misusing the name of Joanna Stenhouse and Womble Bond Dickinson (UK) LLP.
What is the scam?
The SRA has been advised that an email has been sent misusing the name of a genuine firm of solicitors (see below). The email refers to a 'child support order alongside current custody arrangement'.
The email was sent from info@womblebonddickinsonlawfirm.com.
The email is signed off by 'Joanne Stenhouse' with the telephone number +1 646 820 4239 and another email address of joannestenwomble@outlook.com.
Any business or transactions through the above contact details is not undertaken by an individual or firm of solicitors authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises a genuine solicitor's firm Womble Bond Dickinson (UK) LLP (SRA number 449247). The genuine firm's email domain ends in '@wbd-uk.com' and their telephone number is 03454150000.
The genuine firm has confirmed that neither it, nor its genuine in-house lawyer Joanna Stenhouse has any connection to the email referred to in the above alert.
