The website https://www.tab-legal.com/ is operating under the name 'Thornton & Baines Legal' and present themselves to be SRA regulated law firms.

What is the scam?

The SRA has been informed that a website is operating and presenting itself as a law firm under the name 'Thornton & Baines Legal'.

The bogus website provides an email address of 'info@tab-legal.com' along with the following telephone number of '0207 183 0136'. It also provides an office address of 30 St Mary Axe. Floors 28 & 29. London EC3A 8EF.

The website claims that they are an SRA regulated law firm.

Any business or transactions through the website address 'https://www.tab-legal.com/' or email addresses described above are not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA does not authorise or regulate a firm called 'Thornton & Baines Legal'.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means.
