Warning: Correspondence misusing the name and SRA number of Melisa Suzan Fati and Manuel Jesús Martínez López and the name of Global Legal Solutions Ltd

Telephone calls and correspondence have been sent misusing the name and SRA number of Melisa Suzan Fati and Manuel Jesús Martínez López and the name of Global Legal Solutions Ltd in relation to the provision of legal services.

What is the scam?

The SRA has been notified that emails, a document and telephone calls have been received by a member of the public. Misusing the names and SRA numbers of genuine solicitors and a genuine firm (see details below) in relation to the provision of legal services linked to recovering cryptocurrency.

The emails were sent from the email address 'soporte@support-globalsolution.com', with the subject line 'Referral of Hearing and Follow-up of your File'. They included a fake civil proceedings document and asked the recipient to click on malicious links to cryptocurrency wallets.

The calls were made from '+34 681 376277', which appears to be a WhatsApp business account.

Any business or transactions through the above email address or telephone number is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Global Legal Solutions Ltd (SRA number 648047). The genuine firm uses the email domain '@glssolicitors.co.uk'.

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor called Melisa Suzan Fati, whose SRA number is 7019534. The genuine solicitor is not employed at the genuine firm Global Legal Solutions Ltd.

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor called Manuel Jesus Martinez Lopez, whose SRA number is 7021759. The genuine solicitor is not employed at the genuine firm Global Legal Solutions Ltd.

The genuine Manuel Jesus Martinez Lopez is believed to have no connection to the correspondence, telephone calls or emails referred to in the above alert.

The genuine firm Global Legal Solutions Ltd and the genuine solicitor Melisa Suzan Fati have confirmed they have no connection to the correspondence, telephone calls or emails referred to in the alert above.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means.
