Warning: Websites & telephone call misusing the name of Wealth Recovery Solicitors Limited

The SRA has been advised that a number of websites are misusing the name and details of Wealth Recovery Solicitors Limited. A member of the public has also received a telephone call misusing the firm's name.
What is the scam?
The SRA has been advised that a number of websites are misusing the name and details of a genuine firm of solicitors (see below). The websites are as follows:
- 'www.wealthrecover.co.uk'. The website provides a telephone number of '44 7451 271198' and an email address of 'support@wealthrecover.uk'.
- 'www.federalantifraudagency.com'. 'Federal Antifraud Agency' claims to be a trading name of the genuine firm (see below). The website provides the telephone numbers '+447724584167' and '+447760768278' and an email address of 'report@federalantifraudagency.com'.
- 'lexwealthrecovery.com'. The website provides an email address of 'support@lexwealthrecovery.com'.
- 'www.wrsolicitors.org'. This website is no longer operating.
The SRA has also identified the website 'www.fedbureaurecovery.com'. 'Refund Quest Solicitors' claims to be a trading name of the genuine firm (see below). The website provides an email address of 'support@refundquest.com' and the telephone contact numbers of '0203 695 9245' and '2342342342'.
We are also informed that a member of the public has received a telephone call from a company claiming to be the genuine firm (see below) on the telephone number '+447308513687'.
Any business or transaction through the above websites, email addresses and telephone contact numbers are not undertaken by a genuine firm or solicitor authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Wealth Recovery Solicitors Limited. The firm's head office address is Floor 6, 3 Hardman Street, Manchester, M3 3HF. The firm can be contacted on 0203 695 9239 and on the email address info@wealthrecovery.co.uk. The genuine firm's website address is www.wealthrecovery.co.uk.
The genuine firm of Wealth Recovery Solicitors Limited has confirmed that it has no connection to the websites or telephone call referred to in the above alert.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
