Warning: Correspondence from 'Lewis Napley & Partners LLP'

Emails and a text message from 'Lewis Napley & Partners LLP' misusing the details of a genuine firm of solicitors Kingsley Napley LLP.
What is the scam?
Members of the public have received emails and one text message purporting to be from 'Lewis Napley & Partners LLP' regarding a possible inheritance under the subject line “Inquiry Regarding Potential Family Connections.”
The SRA have seen an email purporting to be from 'Lewis Napley & Partners LLP' signed off by a 'Lewis Kendall' with the email address 'lewisnapleypartnersllp@gmail.com'. The body of the email also refers to the name 'Lewis Napley & Partners LLC'. This email misuses the genuine website address of the genuine firm of solicitors Kingsley Napley LLP.
The SRA does not authorise or regulate a firm of solicitors called 'Lewis Napley & Partners LLP' or 'Lewis Napley & Partners LLC'.
The SRA also does not authorise or regulate a solicitor called Lewis Kendall. However, a person by this name is employed by Kingsley Napley as a Paralegal (see below).
Any business or transaction through 'Lewis Napley & Partners LLP', 'Lewis Napley & Partners LLC' or through the email address 'lewisnapleypartnersllp@gmail.com' is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Kingsley Napley LLP. The genuine firms head office address is 20 Bonhill Street, London, EC2A 4DN. The firm's genuine website address is www.kingsleynapley.co.uk and its email domain is @kingsleynapley.co.uk
There is a genuine individual named Lewis Kendall who is employed by the firm of solicitors Kingsley Napley LLP. The genuine Lewis Kendall's email address is ‘lkendall@kingsleynapley.co.uk' and can be located on the genuine firm's website (see above).
The genuine firm of solicitors and Lewis Kendall have confirmed that there is no genuine connection to either the emails or text message referred to in the above alert.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
